I call myself the queen of montage! The art of montage is the combination of two or more photos. This can be done by combining two slides or it can be achieved digitally. My backgrounds are usually photos of textures such as rock surfaces, brick walls, scanned papers etc. As I am a photoshop aficionado, I usually do the combining digitally. Photoshop offers many filters so that you can get different effects for your background or foreground photo. There are endless possibilities. My main inspiration comes from nature. Living on the Napanee river affords many photo opportunities, for example, the photo in my gallery of the early morning hunter out in his canoe on a misty fall morning. Along with Art Among the Ruins, I show my work on Wolfe Island in the summer at the Stone Heron Gallery.
