Working with stained glass means bringing a measure of order to chaos, with light continually honouring the glass once the artist - who has worked with her hands, head and heart - is done.

Sue started working with glass in a studio at Sheridan College over 30 years ago. Although building traditional leaded glass and copper foil pieces is still an incredibly satisfying process for Sue, she also likes to think outside the box. Some of her designs and methods tend to pursue non-traditional elements. In the last few years, she's been studying and experimenting with solder sculpture, layering glass, wire and foil overlays, torchwork, and adding natural elements and recycled glass to her pieces.

Sue is the Chief Glassbreaker at Sageleaf Whimsy Studio in the northern reach of Stone Mills Township, and is honoured to be showing her wares at Art Among the Ruins this year.
